Ms Caroline Prentice is a Consultant Gynaecologist at Royal Berkshire Hospital, where she leads the Early Pregnancy Unit. With specialist expertise in early pregnancy and benign gynaecology, including ultrasound, she has a particular interest in the management of complex early pregnancy conditions such as ectopic pregnancies and miscarriage.

She is dedicated to providing highly individualised, compassionate, patient-centred care, combining the latest evidence-based practice with clear communication and genuine empathy. Patients consistently value her calm, thorough approach and her commitment to involving them fully in decisions about their treatment.

Following her specialist training in the Oxford Deanery, with rotations at Royal Berkshire Hospital and Oxford University Hospitals, Ms Prentice has developed a practice that also encompasses acute gynaecology and the innovative use of digital tools to improve women’s healthcare pathways.

Alongside her clinical work, she is a passionate educator and serves as College Tutor and E-portfolio Champion for Thames Valley Obstetrics & Gynaecology trainees at Royal Berkshire Hospital. She regularly teaches ultrasound, surgical skills, and benign gynaecology. She has also contributed to patient information resources, including guidance on tubal ectopic pregnancy, and runs an early pregnancy educational website for medical professionals.
